The racing surface at Hackwood Park last Sunday received unanimous praise from trainers and senior jockeys, and Clerk of the Course Bill Welling is confident the conditions will be similar on Easter Monday.
'The track was harrowed the morning after racing and three tonnes of soil put down where necessary.' he said. 'We will expect to put on about 1/2" of water and prior to that, the track will be spiked.' said Welling. 'In addition I may use the aeravator which oscillates the top three inches of ground - having said that, there is a possibility of rain on Good Friday in which case our worries will be over!'
